In the last thirty years, jump rope has moved off the sidewalk and into the competitive arena. The sport now features astounding acrobatic tricks, lightning speed, hip-hop style and international competition. Doubletime follows two of the most accomplished and award-winning teams in the world: The Bouncing Bulldogs of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and The Double Dutch Forces from Columbia, South Carolina. Although they train in neighboring states, the Bulldogs and the Forces don't have a chance to compete against each other because they belong to separate leagues.
Doubletime culminates at the Apollo Theater in Harlem with a dramatic competition where, for the first time, the Bulldogs and the Forces go head-to-head in a high-energy international event featuring fusion routines where the sport of Double Dutch blends with hip-hop dance and music.
